Singapore Chapter, Springtime Lunch April 28, 2009:
In the tranquil garden setting of an historic black and white colonial style private home in Singapore, the Pistorio Foundation held a Springtime Lunch on April 28th, 2009 to share the success of its various projects and to continue with its fund-raising initiatives for underprivileged children in Southeast Asia.
In 2008, the Singapore Chapter of the Foundation raised funds for infrastructure and scholarship programs for hill-tribe children in the Chiang Rai province of Thailand and built a primary school campus & dormitory for the remote village of Ban Mhai Pattaná. The fundraising efforts of the Springtime Lunch will go towards the building of a school in another hill-tribe village, for the Hmong people in another geographically isolated area within the Chiang Rai region.
The event was attended by guests including members of the business and diplomatic community who enjoyed gourmet food catered by Fine Palate, fine wine by Denise Wines and mineral water from Acqua Panna, our generous event partners. An impressive amount of $24,455 was raised, 100% of which will go toward the cost of building the school.
The activities of the day included a ‘live’ auction of Universal Restaurant dinner for 6 and Selected Wines donated by Denise Wines, ‘silent’ auctions of items donated by Bulgari Fine Palate, The Shophouse, The Fort Printers (Sri Lanka) and Koupaia art studios, and raffle draws of exclusive items donated by Narumi Photography, Samsonite, Carrot Banana Peach, Lee Carrington golf professional, Urban Nail & Beauty, CeleVenus, Chateau de Sable, Hediard, and Stuffed Parties.
Many thanks to our generous event partners, sponsors and guests whose support and generosity makes the challenging vision of the Foundation possible and realizable.
