Donation for releif aid to children victims of the War in Congo

“In response to the ongoing decade long conflict in the Democratic Republic of Congo that continues to claim 45,000 victims per month, half of which children (“The Guardian”), and which counts today over 5 million deaths since the start of the conflict, where contending war groups have ravaged a country to take control of one of the world’s richest areas in mineral resources at the expense of its population, and in particular innocent women and children. The Foundation has donated 20,000 CHF to VIS, Volontari Internazionali per lo Sviluppo (International Volunteers for Development), to come in aid of the thousands of children in the a refugee camp near Goma, on the border with Rwanda, who have escaped war and violence, and who are in desperate need of food, shelter, medical assistance, and peace.”
