Carmelo Pistorio, Founder and Managing Director of Upstream Ventures, an Asian early stage venture capital firm, has over 10 years of international entrepreneurial experience across multiple high-tech industries including software, semiconductors, and environmental systems and solutions.

His operational experience spans all aspects of a startup, and he has held positions ranging from founder and investor to senior executive for operations, as well as serving on the boards of a number of companies across Europe and Asia.

Prior to founding Upstream Ventures, Carmelo Pistorio has had several years experience as an Angel Investor choosing the vibrant city of Singapore as his center of operations, where he now resides. He currently serves as a panel member on The Enterprise Challenge (TEC), which responds to the Prime Minister’s Office, as well as being Honorary Treasurer of the Singapore Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (SVCA). Carmelo Pistorio has also served on the board of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Singapore, and continues to serve on the boards of Upstream Ventures’ core portfolio companies.

Carmelo Pistorio earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy and History from Tufts University in Boston, MA, USA.
