Dear Friends,

we are delighted to share with you our Annual Activities Report 2021. Despite 2021 was a year of continued health crisis due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the restrictions imposed globally, the Foundation was able to provide continuity in learning and support to our beneficiaries in all the regions we are present. High pass rates and retention rates of students in their programs have remained unchanged from previous years even during the pandemic, thanks also to the implementation of distance learning and to the food and supplies aid provided to families of beneficiaries.

Giovanna Bottani joins as New Board Member

We are saddened for the departure from our Board of Carmelo Pistorio, who has been one of the founding Members and instrumental in the growth and development of the Foundation since 2005. As we wish him well in his new endeavors, we welcome whole-heartedly Giovanna Bottani. We are confident that Giovanna’s wealth of experience and expertise, having worked in the non-profit sector since 2006 as Director of STFoundation and as sustainability and CSR consultant to companies, government agencies, and other charities, will be a great asset for the Pistorio Foundation moving forwards. Welcome on board Giovanna!

Help us expand a primary school in Burkina Faso!

The Pistorio Foundation has been involved in interventions in Burkina Faso in the center-west region of Boulkiemdè since 2006, providing scholarships to hundreds of children and building school infrastructure. We believe in the importance of focusing on selected geographical regions over time to have the greatest impact on the local communities. Burkina is one of the poorest nations in the world, with over 40% of the population living in poverty and ranking 185 out of 188 countries in the UN Human Development Index. This year, together with Amref, we are building a new classroom in the village of Tanguin as the school does not have the capacity to respond to the demand of new students. Help us raise 10,000 Euros towards the expansion of the school with the addition of a new classroom so that the school can take on more students in September 2022! The direct beneficiaries of the project are 245 children of the village of Tanguin and neighboring villages, and the new classroom can welcome up to fifty new students. 100% of any donation will go directly to the construction of the new classroom. Donate now! Thank you for your support!
